Emerson Expands its Advanced Reservoir Modeling Software Solution to Enhance Workflow Automation and Ease of Use
Wednesday, August 7, 2019
STAVANGER, NORWAY - Emerson announces the launch of Roxar™ RMS 11.1, the latest version of its reservoir modeling software. This version provides a range of powerful technologies for building and visualizing high-quality reservoir models, using automated workflows that allow users to obtain superior results with less effort.
The powerful job and workflow concepts in RMS 11.1 make it easy to set up, run and assess fully automated workflows in a wide variety of configurations. Flexible and intuitive visualization capabilities significantly enhance RMS as a solution spanning geological interpretation and structural modeling, through reservoir modeling, all the way to reservoir engineering.
New technologies enable the user to build high-quality models. These include high-performance solutions for modeling channelized reservoirs, defining regions in a unified and consistent manner, and automating structural modeling in highly faulted reservoirs. RMS also offers excellent support for the preparation of dynamic data for flow simulation, particularly when addressing branched multilateral wells and advanced completions. Additionally, the Roxar API and plug-in framework allows for customization and speedy innovation.
“Our users’ preferences were a major consideration when developing this release,” said Somesh Singh, chief product officer of exploration and production software, Emerson Automation Solutions. “The result is an expansion of our advanced toolsets, aimed at streamlining interpretation and modeling workflows. This comprehensive and integrated reservoir characterization solution continues to evolve to meet market needs, including further optimization of the automation capabilities offered by RMS and Big Loop™, our unique collaborative ecosystem.”
Emerson’s Roxar RMS reservoir modeling software is a geoscience and reservoir engineering solution for geological interpretation, well log interpretation and correlation, mapping, geomodeling, gridding and flow simulation. The software enables operators to integrate their data on a single platform, and capture and propagate uncertainties across their workflows, preserving data integrity from seismic to production.
