SNC-Lavalin signs letter of agreement to complete construction of AL nuclear generating unit
MONTREAL: June 6, 2018 - SNC-Lavalin (TSX: SNC) announces today that its American subsidiary, SNC-Lavalin Nuclear (USA) Inc. has signed a letter of agreement (LOA) with Nuclear Development LLC to provide EPC Management services to complete Bellefonte Unit 1 Nuclear Generating Station in Hollywood, AL, upon Nuclear Development LLC’s acquisition of the facility, which is scheduled to close in Q4 2018.

To complete the work at Bellefonte Station Unit 1, SNC-Lavalin has assembled a team of knowledgeable major nuclear suppliers who will bring their depth of experience to play in developing a plan to complete the plant on budget and within schedule. The team has performed extensive reviews of the scope of work and conducted plant walkdowns to evaluate the design and equipment condition.
The Bellefonte plant will bring opportunity to the Hollywood, AL area, creating jobs during and after construction. The team and selected suppliers intend to work closely with local businesses.
SNC-Lavalin has a proven track record of successfully completing new power plants on four continents, as well as nuclear plant life extension projects in Canada, South Korea and Argentina. The team’s track record of high performance in nuclear new-build and refurbishment will continue with the Bellefonte project.
