Laker Energy Products Ltd.

Founded in 1995, Laker is a privately owned manufacturer of high quality precision-machined reactor components with approximately 100 employees, comprised of skilled engineers, technologists, CNC machinists, millwrights, quality assurance and support staff.  

Laker is a fully integrated manufacturer and testing facility for CANDU® fuel channel, feeder, fuel handling and reactivity control components. Machining, welding, assembly, dimensional inspection and NDE are all performed in-house. As a CSA N285.0 certified material organization, we supply a broad range of ASME Section III Nuclear Grade Material. This includes Carbon & Stainless Steel Pipe Fittings, Seamless pipe, Fasteners. Our customers have relied on us to supply complete nuclear assemblies including reactivity shutoff and adjuster drive mechanisms, fuel handling and fuelling machine assemblies, Inconel flow elements, etc.

Bruce Power, Framatome sign MoU for safety-related Life-Extension Program updates

Bruce Power today signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Framatome valued at $18.7 million covering a range of innovations and new activities, including operational improvements for its nuclear reactors. These innovative modernizations, planned for Bruce A and Bruce B, are an important component of the facility’s Life-Extension Program, which will allow the plant to continue operating through 2064.

November 27, 2018, Ajax Ontario. – The Organization of Canadian Nuclear Industries (OCNI) held its Annual General Meeting, Awards Lunch and AGM Conference on November 27th at the Ajax Convention Centre in Ajax Ontario. The AGM Conference on "Nuclear Innovation and Medical Isotopes Saving Lives" discussed new technologies for producing a variety of medical isotopes in power reactors as well as in cyclotron facilities in Canada.
