U-Battery is a very Small Modular Reactor (vSMR) which will be able to produce local power and heat for a range of energy needs. Early markets for deployment are in Canada and the United Kingdom. This technology is being developed by Urenco in partnership with Wood, Kinectrics, Cammell Laird and Laing O’Rourke. More information is available at www.u-battery.com.
Building on its progress over the last two years, U-Battery is looking to engage with the Canadian nuclear supply chain to share details about its reactor technology, and begin to form supplier relationships to facilitate future deployment.
This forum will consist of a presentation by the U-Battery project team on its progress to date, as well as curent and and future activities; timelines for engagement with vendors (i.e., service providers, component suppliers, OEMs, etc.), and other details.
There will be opportunities for questions followed by a breakout session for interested suppliers.
The U-Battery Supplier Forum will be held at the Kinectrics campus in Etobicoke, located at 800 Kipling Ave., Unit 2, Toronto, ON M8Z5G5.
