There is considerable interest in Industry 4.0 technologies which highlights the deployment of sensors and data driven decision making to support operations. Early adopters are reporting benefits, but uptake in Canada has been slow.
Installing sensors on equipment represents a barrier to deployment. Based on this we are exploring if a 5G private wireless network is a potential solution to facilitate the wider use of sensors in operations.
Much has been said about the advantages of 5G.
