Damoff and Triantafilopoulos Join ONA and OCNI in Recognizing Celeros Flow Technology

October 4, 2024 – BURLINGTON, ON — Pam Damoff, MP for Oakville North—Burlington, and Effie J. Triantafilopoulos, MPP for Oakville North—Burlington, joined leaders from the Organization of Canadian Nuclear Industries (OCNI) and Ontario’s Nuclear Advantage (ONA) in recognizing Celeros Flow Technology (Celeros FT), a global lifecycle partner specializing in advanced flow solutions utilizing pumps and valves.

MP Damoff and MPP Triantafilopoulos joined the OCNI, ONA, and Celeros FT’s senior leadership at their Burlington facility before delivering remarks in recognition of the important role that Celeros FT plays within the riding of Oakville North—Burlington, within Ontario’s nuclear sector, and the global nuclear industry at large.

Responding to the recognition extended by OCNI and ONA, Tommy Kassem, Chief Commercial Officer at Celeros FT, said, “Celeros FT is committed to supporting our customers with technology designed to deliver clean energy to the world; we have established Nuclear as one of our focus industries globally. Since we signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Ontario Power Generation in 2023, we have worked diligently to achieve nuclear certification for our Burlington Pump facility. With this in place, Celeros FT now offers a dedicated workspace for nuclear pump manufacture, plus full lifecycle support through our highly experienced engineering and service teams. In addition, we have secured space for expansion to support the expected new nuclear growth in Canada, as well as globally. Our nuclear portfolio includes both pumps and valves and we are working to deploy our full portfolio in Ontario through our Burlington site. We continue to partner with all stakeholders in Ontario for the future of the SMR program and the expansion of nuclear power and look forward to leveraging our Burlington facility to support their future plans.”

Celeros FT’s significant impact within the nuclear power industry has spanned over several decades, with Celeros FT technology present in the first ever industrial scale nuclear power plant. Today, Celeros FT nuclear valve and pump installations are present in over 65% of the world’s operational nuclear power plants.

“Ontario’s Nuclear Advantage was pleased to join the OCNI, MP Damoff and MPP Triantafilopoulos in recognizing the significant role that Celeros Flow Technology plays in Ontario’s nuclear industry,” said Andrew Thiele, Director of ONA. “For decades, Ontario’s nuclear industry, and the global industry at large, has relied on Celeros FT’s advanced flow solutions in our nuclear power plants. Today’s event highlighted this significant impact, and the resulting contributions to Ontario’s net zero and clean energy ambitions.”

“Ontario is poised to build a tremendous amount of new nuclear energy through SMRs and large nuclear. Regardless of the type, all these are made of pumps and valves, products of companies like Celeros. And that just shows that the strength of Ontario’s nuclear excellence is built upon its supply chain.”
