October 24th 2016, Pickering, Ontario. – The Organization of Canadian Nuclear Industries (OCI) congratulates RCM Technologies of Pickering for being selected as a Business Excellence Award winner at the Ajax-Pickering Board of Trade Annual Business Awards Gala on October 20 in Ajax. 

RCM Technologies was recognized for its innovation and high quality in developing and delivering unique solutions to nuclear customers in Ontario.  “We are proud to have a world class supplier of nuclear services right here in our region” said Dr. Ron Oberth, President and CEO of the Pickering-based Organization of Canadian Nuclear Industries, who was present for the announcement of this prestigious ward.

The award was accepted by Igor Blagojevic of RCMT who acknowledged the strong team and supportive management at RCMT. Pickering Mayor Dave Ryan, Ajax Mayor Steve Parish, Tracy MacCharles MPP of Pickering Scarborough and Joe Dickson MPP of Ajax Pickering were present to witness the recognition of RCMT.

Nuclearelectrica clear to start Cernavoda 1 upgrade

Societatea Nationala Nuclearelectrica SA has received shareholder approval to start upgrading unit 1 of the Cernavoda nuclear power plant, a 650 MWe Candu 6 reactor on which construction started in 1982. An extraordinary general meeting of the Romanian company's shareholders, of which the main one is the Romanian Ministry of Energy, Small and Medium Enterprises, and Business Environment, approved the plan on 28 September.
